30 Jul No more visible likes on Instagram
You have probably noticed Instagram is hiding likes on posts and has expanded its test that originated in Canada now to include Australia, Ireland, Japan, Brazil and New Zealand.
The initiative is founded around the idea that social media apps, including Instagram, would be less toxic and healthier if users paid less attention to fake measures of attention and virality.
“We want your friends to focus on the photos and videos you share, not how many likes they get. You can still see your own likes by tapping on the list of people who’ve liked it, but your friends will not be able to see how many likes your post has received,” the company, which is owned by Facebook said in a published statement.
Users can still see a list of likes on their post, but they won’t see an overall number.
If you are a business and use the measurement tools, the likes and engagement metrics remain.
